In the 21st century we will finally move away from passwords and toward distributed cryptography and peer-to-peer systems. You will help create new security protocols for identity, authentication, and key management, as well as protocols for helping to secure electronic financial assets of the future, including but not limited to Bitcoin.

SolidX Partners Inc., a VC-backed company located in NYC, is expanding its development team. SolidX builds innovative blockchain-based applications for enterprises.

If you can't stand Certificate Authorities, are frustrated by PGP's web of trust and lack of adoption, or have audited the code of the bitcoin wallet you're using, we're looking for you. You have written or contribute to peer-to-peer systems. You like to break things and take things apart. You are passionate about creating a more secure and fair future, using cryptography and distributed systems.

We seek someone with an advanced degree in mathematics, specifically a Masters or Ph.D. in cryptography, discrete math, computer science, or electrical engineering, and related experience applying those skills in an adversarial environment. Good communication skills, numeric and mathematical analysis skills are a must. Academic publication of results is a possibility. Partnering on consulting with big banks on Bitcoin, blockchain, and security is also a possibility.

The majority of the actual work will be software engineering with our existing team of excellent backend, UI/UX, iOS and Android developers, building phone and web applications that use cryptography and Bitcoin. We're seeking someone with cryptography expertise to round out our team, design protocols, and help audit the security of code we write.

Proficiency in multiple languages is a must. We use C++, Go, Python, Javascript and HTML5/CSS with AngularJS, and git. Interesting code and contributions to cryptography or bitcoin-related projects on your github account is a major plus. Demonstrated knowledge on StackExchange is also a plus.
